Position Overview  

Powder Coating Supervisor will lead a small team of powder coaters and sandblasters in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. This role demands a disciplined leader who can ensure rapid turnaround while maintaining exceptional quality and safety standards.  

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead daily operations for powder coating and sandblasting teams, prioritizing workflow to meet tight project deadlines 
• Oversee project-based production cycles, ensuring timely preparation, coating, and finishing of components for custom installations 
• Enforce strict quality control, verifying coating adherence, surface preparation, and final finishes meet design specifications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Assembly, Design, Manufacturing) to align coating schedules with project milestones
• Implement safety protocols for hazardous material handling, PPE compliance, and equipment operation
• Manage equipment maintenance, including spray booths, curing ovens, and sandblasting machinery, to minimize downtime
• Train and mentor team members on best practices for surface preparation, color matching, and defect resolution

Requirements 

• 8+ years of powder coating experience, including expertise in steel, aluminum, and specialty materials 
• 3+ years in a supervisory role, with proven ability to lead teams in a manufacturing/production environment 
• Project management skills to handle multiple high-priority assignments simultaneously
• Technical proficiency in reading schematics, work instructions, and basic mechanical drawings 
• Physical stamina to stand for 8–10+ hours and lift 50+ lbs repeatedly
• Safety-first mindset with OSHA compliance experience in hazardous material environments 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with custom finishes for architectural or large-scale installations
• Knowledge of environmental regulations for coating waste disposal 
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles for process optimization

Working Conditions

• Fast-paced manufacturing plant with exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations
• Overtime required to meet project deadlines
• PPE mandatory (respirators, gloves, protective suits) during all coating operations
