Summary
This position builds, wires, and tests industrial control panels used in automation for major water feature projects worldwide. The role demands precise craftsmanship, the ability to read and follow electrical schematics, and a commitment to reliability and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and wire complex control panels and enclosures from electrical drawings, schematics, and bills of material
Terminate power, signal, and communication wiring (24 VDC, 120/480 VAC, Ethernet, analog/digital I/O)
Mount and connect PLCs, VFDs, relays, breakers, power supplies, terminal blocks, and other components
Execute point-to-point checks, continuity testing, and assist with system commissioning
Ensure high craftsmanship in wire routing, labeling, shielding, and panel aesthetics aligned with WET’s standards
Collaborate with engineers and fellow technicians to resolve build issues and maintain quality
Document work processes and support improvements to production efficiency and reliability
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated industrial control panel wiring experience (automation, OEM, water treatment, or aerospace environments)
Proficient in reading and interpreting detailed electrical schematics and layout drawings
Skilled in termination techniques, shielding, grounding, and low-voltage signal routing
Strong manual dexterity and proficiency with electrical assembly hand/power tools
Excellent attention to detail in wiring and panel construction
Good verbal and written communication; capable of following and improving documentation
Ideal Backgrounds
Industrial automation technician
Panel shop electrician (UL-listed fabrication experience)
PLC/instrumentation technician for process or aerospace controls
