Horticulture Specialist/ Gardener

Description

This position is responsible for the lawn care and grounds maintenance, as well as making repairs to irrigation systems, equipment, and keeping the overall conditions of the grounds looking its best.

Responsibilities:

• Plants, waters, cultivates, fertilizes, weeds, gardens
• Mow and trim the lawns
• Edge and make sure the flower beds are taken care of
• Digs ditches, holes, and trenches for planting, irrigation, electrical and plumbing needs
• Cleans trash on the grounds and transfers waste and recycling from storage areas and cans to the dumpsters daily
• Performs bare tree and shrub trimming 
• Assists with or conducts irrigation work
• Cares for and moves outdoor container plants 

Qualifications:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ year of grounds maintenance experience
• Possess experience in operating motorized equipment
• Be able to lift 75 lbs. comfortably 
• Understand the use of motorized equipment, power tools, and manual tools
• Have respect for others and ability to work as a team to achieve results
